OK, so the subject comes from "Flowers for Algernon" (by Daniel Keyes). I had to look up the correct spelling, and of course changed the date from Martch 5. I should have started then but I'm slow. I recently read Keyes's "Algernon, Charlie, and I" in _Nebula Awards Showcase 2001_ --- very interesting.
I have figured out only a small fraction of the lj functionality, so this entry is partly for testing purposes.
