Quiet Words

I just got back from Oasis 23 a little while ago. It was very good. For once, there were several people I'd met before (instead of only two). I mainly went to the panels, although not as many as usual. The last one of the con featured a lot more spontaneous audience participation than is usually tolerated; fortunately, nobody was "banned ... for having a little fun". I went to the last of the filk sessions but missed the masquerade, due to having to take a nap. I bought 5 books (and got 2 of them autographed), a t-shirt, and a bookmark that shows a portion of an artwork. All meals were at the hotel restaurants (3 breakfasts, 2 dinners) or in the con-suite (2.333 lunches). My flights were better timed, so I didn't have to spend any nights at the airport.
