(no subject)

ddb called this afternoon to remind me about the hurricane. I think the best we can hope for is that it hits a strongly Republican area (even though I live in one myself). I need to finish up quickly a certain text in one of my conlangs. JvS has been very supportive of that effort. ddb also mentioned that he had decided to have knee replacement surgery next month and that he got the 2nd and 3rd Thomas Covenant books. The 1st one seemed to me to be (part of) a mainstream novel disguised as epic fantasy. I think I like the mainstream part better. My idea of good fantasy is "Waldo" or "Magic Inc.".

My back has gotten better. Still some intermittent pain. Kidneys? I took out a couple bags of garbage having finally gotten the dead cockroaches out of the sink and some liquified fruits and vegetables out of the refrigerator. More to do of course.
