I guess I'll start a new entry instead of edit the one I just did 2 hours ago.

I should be asleep since I have to be up by 0900 but I need to write this first. I was able to sleep for maybe an hour before waking up again. I dreamed I was working in real-time embedded systems again (although the hardware was weird -- there's always something in a dream that's strange). I realized I hadn't done that particular kind of work in almost 10 years (not counting the fiasco in Nashville), and that made me sad.

In my first college, I learned the analog synthesizer, but couldn't continue with it because I never had enough money, even when I worked full-time professionally while living with my parents.

Later, I worked on and off as an assembly-language programmer; again, the 8- and 16-bit processors I worked with are now obsolete. At least I was able to live on my own, buy a new car (the one that I recently lost), and save some money. At one point, I had over $30,000 in the bank, thanks to an inheritance, but I ended up having to live off it instead of making a down-payment on a house.

I don't know what's going to happen now; my housing program is temporary.

I'm good at having dreams, but bad at getting them fulfilled.

I think some people want to know how my appointments went today, so here's the report.

After waking up early a couple times, I ended up sleeping an hour and a half later than planned. I quickly ate a mini cruller and vulcanized a couple eggs while checking my email. I stuffed a couple more mini crullers into my briefcase and got to my first appointment, my primary care physician, less than an hour late. All my recent tests came out OK. The discussion with the doctor about some physical problems was much shorter and less detailed than I would have liked, but I did come out of it with a prescription, should the need arise.

I had time to kill, so I went to VOA and dropped off a copy of my lease renewal agreement.

I saw my tharapist later, but didn't actually have therapy, because the authorization hadn't come in. She did give me some information on how to change medicaid providers, which will hopefully take care of the authorization problem without causing other problems. I plan to take care of that tomorrow, but I need to write down a bunch of questions first. I also ran into my social worker, who has also been waiting for authorization.

Finally, I saw my psychiatrist. After some discussion, she took me off all my medications, at least until I have some problem. I asked about my problems with memory and concentration and she said that I should have my doctor refer me to a neurologist (if that's what it is).

Then I got a few groceries, came home, and fixed dinner.
