Life is hell. And there's no way out. I must have done something really terrible in a previous lifetime.

There's no use waiting for the email that will never come. I might as well expect my car to come back to life.

I need medications that work, that don't have side-effects, and which I can take only as needed, with a quick response. The only thing remotely close to that that I've come across is alcohol. The medical industry is demonic. The doctors want to prescribe medicine according to what the drug company says it does, not what it actually does. Unfortunately, the people paying my rent forbid even drinking out. It all fits together, doesn't it?

> Life goes on -- there are ups as well as downs, no matter how permanent the downs seem. Or, hear it (http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/phi/244840090.html) from a person who actually tried to kill themself and is now in happier times, instead of someone who's only briefly considered it a couple times. Seriously, as trite as it sounds to say something like "there's hope"...there is, in fact, hope.

> If your medicine isn't working as described, tell your doctors that: tell them exactly what it's doing instead of what it's supposed to do, and make them put you on something else. It's worth noting that most antidepressants take ~3 weeks to start working, which sucks but is kind of unavoidable.

> Not being well-informed, I can't really point you to expert help, except for someone Sai pointed me to: prismatism at gmail dot com. I've gotten good advice from them before, and they can advise you as well as probably point you to resources in your area.

You're not a nuisance. When you're feeling this down, you have every right to complain and ask for help.

That said, I really do advise you to talk to an expert, because I am definitely not an expert. Seriously. There are lots of people out there who know exactly how to help, who have been trained how to help -- I do what I can, but I'm not one of them.

I need to write up one of those 'in retrospect, life doesn't always suck' pieces at some point.
