The sinusitis and bronchitis that I've had since early January (IIRC) has been easing up a little bit recently.
I just started taking a Spanish class today, even though I took four semesters of it in college thirty years ago. I'm supposed to do weekly activities and this was the least unsuitable choice. The person teaching the class speaks Spanish with a heavy Haitian accent, so my pronunciation might end up worse (I used to be pretty good at that part). Hopefully, I'll at least learn to speak Spanish conversationally (instead of La Historia, cuya madre es la Verdad or vice-versa). Then maybe I can even learn to speak English converstionally!
About a month ago, I finally updated my Naisek vocabulary page with the words invented for the ZBB translation relay (Polyglottal Telephone II), in anticipation of my participation in the next one. However, I dropped out when I saw the text; translating it would have been sheer drudgery. I haven't updated the website yet because I'm still working on changes to the grammar.
A couple days ago I did finish my Naisek translation for the latest CONLANG translation relay (in Ring A). Although it was a nicer and shorter text, it took me over three days, mainly due to an inability to invent the necessary new words. Unfortunately, the person after me had to drop out due to scheduling problems; the person before me had already taken three extra days, so the total delay threw things off. In addition, the person who was supposed to translate from my 'Yemls translation (in Ring C), which I'm scheduled to do a few days from now, has also decided to drop out.
I've been hearing dripping sounds for a while but haven't found any water -- until a few minutes ago. Now there's water on the kitchen floor! I managed to wake up the guy that handles this kind of thing -- conveniently located next door -- and now he's trying to figure out where the water's coming from. Later.
