(no subject)
2007-Jan-25, Thursday 16:07* I'm going to pick up a new floppy drive today. Edit: I picked up the drive; now I have to install it. End Edit
* I'm working on adverbs and/or secondary predicates; I need to look up exactly what the difference is. I already have an adverb suffix -u that goes on participles, but it refers to the subject, if anything, not the nearest phrase, so I'm thinking of adding another suffix -e for that.
Johan soldata Maria, lalboku. -"John left Mary, singing." (John was singing.)
Johan soldata Maria lalboke. -"John left Mary singing." (Mary was singing.)
Note that this construction couldn't be used for "John heard Mary singing."
Also note that prepositional phrases don't make this distinction yet. I'm not sure if I need to do something about that.
