(no subject)
2007-Apr-30, Monday 18:12* I've been working on MNCL4, TriCons3, PolyF and some of the others but have more or less gotten stuck with all of them. For PolyF, I want to have the personal endings fused with the alignment markers, but I haven't even been able to come up with the morphology for aspects and moods. For TriCons3, the personal endings can be transparent, but different stems are needed for combinations of aspect and alignment, with mood affixed; I haven't been able to come up with a set of stem formats. The problem with MNCL4 is a matter of how alignment of non-verb forms is marked. I've been looking at prefixes and/or different Finals for the object but haven't decided on anything. I may use Medial morphemes for role-inversion, leaving the other tricks for changing the object's role without affecting the subject's role. This all pertains to rearranging the core role assignments; I have no idea how the oblique cases could be handled.
(Note: A word in MNCL is composed of an Initial "root" morpheme, any number of Medial morphemes, and a Final morpheme. The Finals handle how the word functions in the clause (as verb, noun, etc.) and also specifies things like mood or case. The Medials handle the remaining inflection)
