Yesterday I called the number I was given to ask about changing my medicaid plan but got a recording that wouldn't let me talk to a live person. It did refer to a website, but there was something funny about it: .com instead of .gov.

I also went to the library and copied my third score. The first copier was in use by a woman who was copying a cookbook. The second one didn't work; I had to get a librarian to fill out a slip I could take to the cashier to get my dollar back since the coin-op won't give change unless at least one copy is made. Fortunately, a librarian pointed a third copier I hadn't known about. I had to wait an hour for the bus coming back. So, now I have the three scores copied, but I'm having second thoughts about sending them to the person in question.

Once home, I immediately ate a mini cruller and some saltines with cream cheese, since I was very hungry (the library cafetería closes at 1630), but it didn't make me feel much better. Later, I fixed macaroni and cheese with tomato sauce, which did.

Lately, a number of people have been making highly emotional complaints about alleged anti-semitism on livejournal. While I have no doubt there is some, I actually haven't seen it myself (and while we're on the subject, "anti-semitism", in its conventional use is a gross misnomer, another clue that the discussion isn't on rational grounds). All I've seen are some people getting labeled anti-semitic simply for expressing a different viewpoint. Maybe the complainants have had their minds poisoned by the Bible?

My foot is sore for no reason that I can see, unless it's from all the pacing I've been doing.

Here's an informal undocumented list of buddhists being persecuted, off the top of my head.

* by Brahmins in India (at least one patriarch was killed)
* by Muslims in Central Asia (totally eliminating the buddhists)
* by Taoists and Confucianists in China (numerous times)
* by Shintoists in Japan (and sometimes by other buddhists)

In more recent times, buddhists were:

* expelled from Argentina
* jailed in Israel
* tortured in Iran

I almost forgot: the U.S. bombed buddhist temples in Viet Nam.

Today, things have gotten very bad for me again.

I just terminated a 7-year friendship, or had it terminated on me, in a very painful way. The person in question was someone I met in my early days on CONLANG. The main reason I joined livejournal in the first place was to comment in her journal more easily ([livejournal.com profile] yhlee if you must know). But recently, she and several other people have gone totally insane labeling people who merely express a different viewpoint as being anti-semitic. It looks like mob hysteria. I don't know why this is. Immersion in modern pop culture? The Bible? Failure to conlang? I can't answer, but these are legitimate questions for a Nichiren Buddhist to ask.

She was the person for whom I copied my orchestral scores; now I have nowhere to send them.

In related news, I have a copy of _Science Fiction: The Best of 2002_ edited by Robert Silverberg and Karen Haber and a copy of JUNE 2001 Fantasy & Science Fiction (autographed) available if anyone wants them.

I don't know what will happen in the future with the very few friends that are reading this. All things are transient. I don't want things to end this way and I'm very worried.

I've been agitated most of the day. I actually chanted 10 minutes and that helped, but only with the agitation. This is a test of whether or not I can get by without Lexapro. But I'm not going back.
