2008-Jun-14, Saturday 00:13* I see there have been a lot of journal entries that were never made.
* The last few days, I've been making some long-needed improvements to the Naisek grammar pages. I hope to have the new pages online soon. There are a couple points of grammar I've had to figure out and a bunch more I still have to work on (the new CALS site is useful for finding these); I'd thought I was mostly done. It's surprising how much grammar is lexical.
* Other recent projects include something derived from German. There will be quite a few changes by the time I'm finished. Native German speakers will scream in protest then they see what I've done to it -- but I don't see how they're in a position to complain, seeing that they've already gotten rid of the parts I like, like, like the genitive case and the simple past tense.
* I've worked on another project quite a bit but it hasn't gone well (like a number of others a bit less recent). I outlined the morphosyntactic structure (lots of cases this time, to flatten (unchompskify?) the syntax). Then I came up with a phonology with lots of sound changes, so that irregularities will happen naturally, rather than looking completely arbitrary. However, I just can't put the two together.
* The Sixth CONLANG Translation Relay has a new home at
http://qiihoskehmisc.googlepages.com/conlangtranslationrelay6
* Relay 15 finished a while back and is partly up at FrathWiki, so now I have four Naisek texts and four 'Yemls texts, all from relays.
